What is Tox?

Tox is the short form of Neurotoxin. Neurotoxin injections are a highly effective treatment used to soften and prevent dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movement, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. Neurotoxins work by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles, allowing the overlying skin to smooth and appear more refreshed. Results typically begin to appear within 3–7 days, with full results at about 10–14 days, and last approximately 3–4 months. What should I expect during Tox injections?

A Tox injection session takes 20 minutes or less. Your injector cleans your face thoroughly and locates the relevant muscles at which to place the injections. You will feel pinches as the fine needle injects the Tox into key areas, but most people find the procedure quite tolerable. If you’re concerned about discomfort, request a topical numbing cream prior to the injections.

Do I need to schedule downtime following Tox injections?

You don’t need to change your schedule because of Tox injections — go right back to work or school following your appointment. You can also exercise and go about your daily chores. The procedure usually leaves no side effects. If you do have slight bruising or redness at the injection sites, you can use makeup to cover them up.

How long do the effects of Tox last?
